Morphology : Large scales present on the body.

Size : Can grow to more than 3.0 kg and more than 70 cm in length.

Biology : Known to spawn in the upper parts of the river systems. Being an omnivore the diet mainly consists of fruits that dropped in the river.

Distribution : Known to be found in Sungai Pertang, Sungai Terengganu Mati, Sungai Siput, Sungai Kerbat , Sungai Cacing and National Park.

Economic importance:

Highly prized fish.Market price ranges from RM18.00 to RM25.00/kg. Has potential for aquaculture especially in pond and cage culture.
